coast buckwheat
Eriogonum latifolia

Family: Polygonaceae.

Type: Woody plant.

Leaves: Leaf undersides are very white, as with other buckwheats. Leaves are clustered around the base of the plant and around the ends of stems.

Fruit & Flower: Flowers are in clusters, and range from pink to white.

Miscellaneous: Coast buckwheat is part of the coastal scrub assemblage, but may also be found on coastal cliffs, and on stabilized dunes.
