lemonadeberry
Rhus integrifolia

Family: Anacardiaceae.

Type: Evergreen shrub to small tree.

Branching: Alternate.

Leaves: Margins are variable from entire to toothed, and from flat to wavy or cupped.

Twig: Twigs stay stout out to their ends.

Fruit & Flower: Inflorescences are terminal clusters, seen here before flowing as clusters of greenish, whitish or pink. The flowers are white to pink.

Miscellaneous: A number of Rhus are found in southern California chaparral and scrub, and in the Channel Islands. This is in the poison-oak family, but the fruits are edible and a lemonade-like drink can be made from them.
